Red Velvet Pecan Pie – Inspired by Evil Dead #blogoween #FFFB

Red Velvet Pecan Pie- Inspired by Evil Dead #blogoween #FFFB

Where my Evil Dead fans at? I know you are there screaming! This is like THE best cult classic and was the first of the horror comedies. I LOVE horror movies and this was so hilariously over the top gory- coupled with the sexy man beast that is Bruce Campbell. How can it get better than horror and a hunky yet goofy leading man! I basically had the biggest crush on him as a kid…

But WTF does Red Velvet Pecan Pie have to do with Evil Dead?

When making Evil Dead Sam Raimi had little money to buy stage blood, so they made their own. It was made of light corn syrup, creamer and red food coloring. This pie has all three ingredients. I used half and half in place of non dairy creamer though. I don’t like the weird manufactured crap. You can get the blood recipe here. Never know when you may need to make fake blood for a prank.

With that in mind, I thought what kind of recipes do you use corn syrup for? PECAN PIE!

Red pecan pie- Sweet… NO Red Velvet Pecan Pie. Add some cocoa as well and tah-dah it tastes like chocolate pecan pie, but it’s red!

It’s quite clever, I’m so excited and totally amazed myself. **toot-toot (yup I tooted my own horn)**

Also I totally googled Red Velvet Pecan Pie and this shit doesn’t exist. I totally cornered the market on this.

About the Pie

What is your favorite part of Evil Dead… mine may be when Ash gets his chainsaw arm and says, “Groovy!”

You see what I mean about his good looks… come on!

When making the pie I thought of this one… when the hand of his dead girlfriend came through the ground.

Coincidentally my neighbor had just had a Halloween dessert party for her daughter, she was stocked with a bunch of creepy things and had this little edible fingers that Wilton makes.

SCORE!

So I put them into the pie to look like that iconic hand and it looks GREAT! I also added some chocolate cookie crumbs to create some “soil” between the fingers. So FYI of you wanna go ALL the way and decorate it too, that is how I did it.

This is super easy to make and I even broke it down with step-by-step photos how to make this red velvet pecan pie.

I wanna be a fucking fantastic food blogger please ๐Ÿ˜‰ That exorcist inspired soup made me laugh. Fantastic.
